Eastimage Ships Four Units of EI-6040 And EI-8065 X-ray Scanners To Southeast Asia

SHANGHAI, Oct. 29, 2026

Eastimage, an X-ray baggage scanner manufacturer and security screening equipment supplier based in Shanghai, has completed factory acceptance and shipped four X-ray scanners — three EI-6040 and one EI-8065 — to a customer in Southeast Asia, by sea.

1  Shipment Overview: One Manifest, Two Models

1.1  What Left the Workshop

The manifest is deliberately mixed. Three EI-6040 units carry a 600 × 400 mm tunnel, the size that fits handbags, laptop bags and small parcels at a building entrance; the single EI-8065 opens to 800 × 650 mm, enough for trolley cases, delivery cartons and bulky items that would otherwise be opened by hand. Because both models run the same imaging chain and the same operator interface, a screener trained on one lane can move to the other without a second learning curve.

1.2  Why Sea Freight

The four units travel by ocean rather than air. For an order of this size, sea freight keeps logistics costs predictable and avoids the pallet and weight limits that air cargo imposes on a machine of this footprint. It also leaves the factory a realistic delivery window instead of a compressed one, which matters when each unit still has to clear acceptance testing before it can be released.

2  Factory Acceptance Before Crating

2.1  The Test Programme

Before crating, each of the four units completed factory acceptance testing at the Shanghai production base: image quality and penetration checked against calibrated test pieces, conveyor and emergency-stop verification, radiation leakage measurement, and a full software and threat-library configuration run.

2.2  Packing for a Tropical Route

Each scanner is packed in an export crate with a moisture barrier and shock indicators — the specification used for tropical destinations, where humidity in transit is a bigger risk than impact. The four crates are consolidated as a single shipment and labelled for the Southeast Asian leg.

3  Where This Configuration Fits

3.1  Government Buildings, Courts and Public Venues

Equipment in this configuration is typically deployed at the entrance of government buildings and courthouses, where every visitor's bag is screened before it reaches a service counter, and at public venues — exhibition halls, stadiums, theatres — where arrivals come in bursts and queues build within minutes. Government building X-ray scanner lanes are judged less on throughput than on consistency: the same bag has to read the same way at nine in the morning and at five in the afternoon. In most of these sites the scanner sits beside a walk-through metal detector, so the lane is planned as one unit rather than two separate purchases.

3.2  Reading the Regional Demand

Southeast Asia is one of the markets where the question has shifted from whether to screen, to how consistently it is done. For an operator here, the deciding factors are usually commissioning time, spare-parts reach and whether the software is supported in the same time zone — the difference between an X-ray scanner supplier for Southeast Asia and one that ships once and then disappears.

4  Delivery and Support

Commissioning support is arranged alongside the delivery, and the units are scheduled to reach the region in the coming weeks. Eastimage supports deployments across Southeast Asia with remote diagnostics, on-site commissioning and spare-parts supply, so a stopped lane is measured in hours rather than in shipments.

“This shipment of four units to Southeast Asia reflects the growing demand for reliable screening equipment at government and public sites across the region. We’ve prepared these units well ahead of schedule to make sure the customer’s operation is not delayed.”

About Eastimage

Eastimage has been building security inspection equipment in Shanghai since 2003. From a 50,000-square-meter production base, the company manufactures X-ray baggage scanners, walk-through metal detectors and complete screening lines, and stays with them through installation, operator training and spare parts for the life of the machine. More than two decades in the field now back deployments at airports, border crossings, logistics hubs, government buildings and industrial sites across Africa, Asia, Latin America and Europe — work the company sums up as making the world a little safer, one checkpoint at a time.
