Repeat orders from Russian client highlight confidence in cost-performance and rapid delivery
Shanghai, July 28, 2026 – Eastimage, a leading Chinese manufacturer of security inspection equipment, has shipped another batch of EI-6040 X-ray baggage scanners to a long-standing Russian customer this week. The client, which first partnered with Eastimage in 2023, has placed multiple follow-on orders over the past three years, underscoring sustained demand for reliable and cost-effective security screening solutions in the Russian market.
The order was processed and dispatched within two weeks of contract finalisation, meeting the client's urgent requirement for additional screening capacity at key transport hubs. "Eastimage's ability to deliver on short notice and provide tailored technical support gives us confidence in our daily operations," said the client's procurement manager. The shipment is expected to arrive in Moscow by late August, with on-site installation and training scheduled immediately thereafter.
The EI-6040 is a medium-channel X-ray security scanner designed for parcels, hand luggage, and small cargo. It employs advanced multi-energy X-ray technology to classify materials by their effective atomic number, enabling rapid and precise identification of organic substances, inorganic substances, and mixtures (or light metals) inside packages – a critical feature for both customs and public security applications.
Compared to competing models in the same tunnel-size class, the EI-6040 delivers superior penetration: 34mm of steel in the standard configuration and up to 40mm in the high-performance variant. Its wire resolution reaches 0.101mm (38AWG) standard and 0.0787mm (40AWG) optional, ensuring clear detection of fine wires and thin contaminants. These figures place the EI-6040 among the best-in-class for medium-channel X-ray inspection equipment, offering users higher detection accuracy without sacrificing throughput.
The system incorporates Eastimage's proprietary lead-curtain design and high-precision collimators, maintaining an X-ray leakage dose rate below 1 µGy/h at 5 cm from the outer surface – well within international safety standards. Built-in self-diagnostic software alerts operators to calibration drift or component anomalies, while optional add-ons like the EI-BB100 BlackBox record every scan with video, supporting audit trails and post-event review.
Established in 2003, Eastimage holds ISO9001 (quality management), ISO14001 (environmental management), and AAA commercial credit ratings. Its products are CE-certified for the European market, FDA-registered for the United States, and FCC-compliant for electromagnetic compatibility. The company also maintains a valid radiation safety production license, enabling worry-free export to heavily regulated regions like Russia and the EU.
With a 50,000-square-metre production base in Shanghai, Eastimage produces over 5,000 units annually. The company has filed more than 70 patents – including 7 invention patents, 42 utility models, and 13 design patents – and holds 33 software copyrights. To date, more than 30,000 Eastimage security scanners are in active service across over 100 countries, serving more than 20,000 customers in aviation, customs, rail, logistics, and public venues.
Eastimage views the Russian market as a strategic priority for 2026–2027. The company is expanding its local service network to provide faster spare-parts supply and remote diagnostic support. "Our Russian partners value not only our hardware performance but also our commitment to after-sales care," said a company spokesperson. "We expect more collaborative projects in border security, railway stations, and major event screening in the coming year."
